U.S. House Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) apparently mocked Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) announcement of an investigation into the use of federal funds in the possible charges of former President Trump coming from the Manhattan District Attorney.
Schiff started his tweet, in the same way, McCarthy did with, “Here we go again”.
He accused McCarthy of playing, “criminal defense counsel to shield Trump from accountability.” Schiff must have forgotten that the federal government decided not to charge Trump for what is speculated that Alvin Bragg will indict Trump for.
Schiff shared in full:
“Here we go again: Kevin McCarthy once again playing the part of criminal defense counsel to shield Trump from accountability. Heedless of the consequences to the country, he stirs the pot, and calls for an investigation of the investigators. It’s all part of Trump’s playbook.”

Schiff’s tweet seems to be tone deaf as he was at the forefront of multiple investigations into Trump which did not lead to much. It seems Schiff is still holding on to the hope that Trump will be charged and convicted of something.
McCarthy directed relevant House committees to conduct investigations into the possible misuse of federal funds.
McCarthy tweeted:
“Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump. I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions.”

To many, this seems like the same old story taking place on a different stage. We will see what comes of this possible indictment of former President Trump and how he is treated if he is arrested.
