Politico reached out to Tucker Carlson for comment about the news that Department of Defense officials were glad to see him removed from Fox News. It appears that according to Politico, Carlson broke his silence and responded to their request for comment on the news in a text with “Ha! I’m sure”.
Carlson declined to comment any further.
This is the first released comment from Carlson since he “parted ways” with Fox News on Monday.
Politico reported:
“We’re a better country without him bagging on our military every night in front of hundreds of thousands of people,” said one senior DoD official, who like others interviewed for this story was granted anonymity to discuss a politically sensitive topic.
“Good riddance,” said a second DoD official.
Carlson was a vocal critic of moves made by the DoD, including the United States’ involvement in Ukraine. Carlson also got under John Kirby’s skin with comments about maternity flight suits.
Kirby responded to Carlson’s comments publicly with, “What we absolutely won’t do is take personnel advice from a talk show host or the Chinese military”.
Political commentator, Glenn Beck believes that Carlson was fired for not going along with the government’s narrative.
This is not too surprising, as in 2021 the NSA reportedly leaked Carlson’s emails to journalists. After finding out about this news Carlson blasted NSA Director Gen. Paul Nakasone demanding the name of the individual who illegally unmasked him.
Carlson was spotted in Florida on Tuesday with his wife.
A picture of the pair were shared on Twitter:
The Daily Mail caught up with Carlson at his home in Florida, where Carlson told them, “Retirement is going great so far”.
“I haven’t eaten dinner with my wife on a weeknight in seven years,” he said as he headed to dinner with her.
It appears while Carlson may have been blindsided by Fox News’ decision, he has chosen to spend his newly founded free time with his wife. As to what will be next for Carlson, that remains to be seen, but for now, he doesn’t seem too worried about the future.

I don’t care what the Pentagon thinks, Tucker’s commentary on Ukraine was ridiculous, I mean either he was being played or he was or is stupid.
I don’t know what Tucker has said regarding Ukraine, other than it being a mistake to pump billions of dollars with just about zero accountability into a corrupt country with potential WWIII implications. Was there something else?
