Attorneys for FOX Corporation have sent a cease and desist letter to Media Matters of America. The letter is putting Media Matters on notice that the videos of Tucker Carlson that have been “leaked” by Media Matters are obtained illegally. The letter adds that Fox did not consent to the release of the videos and wants it to stop.
Megyn Kelly responded to the news:
“Pro tip: you might want to look inside the org to stop the allegedly horrifying leaks before threatening those who are publishing them.”
Kelly shared earlier this week who she believes is behind the leaks at Fox News, Fox News’ PR Cheif Irena Briganti. Kelly has called the leaks, “Truly disgusting behavior,” and shared that she believes if Fox wanted it to stop it would.
Friday is the first day this week that Mattew Gertz hasn’t shared a “leaked” video of Tucker Carlson. Many may wonder if was it because of the letter, or if he ran out of material. Only time will tell if the letter if more will be released in an effort to try to damage Carlson.
The news of Carlson’s departure has dominated headlines and sent shockwaves through the industry. Although Don Lemon was fired the same day from CNN, the Carlson news has dominated. Last night Carlson spoke to a sold-out crowd in Alabama, reassuring fans that he’s doing quite well, despite all the turmoil.
