Megyn Kelly Claims ‘Fox News is Trying to Destroy Tucker,’ Blames Irena Briganti for Leaked Videos

On Tuesday, another video of Tucker Carlson, which was recorded while off-air on one of the Fox News sets has been released by Media Matters. It hasn’t yet been revealed who is leaking the videos to them. Megyn Kelly believes she knows who is behind the leaks, Fox News’ PR Cheif Irena Briganti (in her opinion).

Kelly addressed the leaked videos in her podcast on Monday which she shared on Twitter, “Fox News is trying to destroy Tucker (it’s drip drip drip every day with the hits). Truly disgusting behavior, most likely by their chief PR hack Irena Briganti but let’s face it – if her bosses wanted it to stop, it would.”

‘Rolling Stone’ reported that according to eight sources, Briganti had compiled a dossier of damaging information on Carlson in the event that he attacked Fox News.

One source told RS, “Irena will never be shy about using these things”. A Spokesperson for Fox News called the allegation of an “oppo file” “patently absurd and categorically false”.

A couple of days ago, videos that are meant to make Carlson look bad started being released by Media Matters. No source for the videos was identified and all Kelly has done is speculated on the source.

It doesn’t appear that Carlson has come out against Fox News. He has so far only released a short clip that didn’t hit Fox News at all.

Fox News has seen a dramatic decline in viewership on their prime time 8 PM slot. The way in which Fox News abruptly cut ties with Carlson has not sat well with his viewers.

On the heels of the Bud Light boycott, it seems conservatives are ready to boycott Fox News as well.

The videos released of Carlson don’t seem to rub many the wrong way and have instead made him appear more “human” and comical. This has not really had the negative effect on Carlson’s fan base that may have been hoping for.
