Accused Man Denies Affair with Ilhan Omar, Says it’s a Revenge Plot

While Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has attempted to do her best at being tight-lipped in regards to her ongoing personal drama, Tim Mynett claims he never had the affair that is being alleged. Mynett, connected to Omar via financial transactions to his consulting company ‘E Street Group LLC’ admits to being apart from his wife, but claims his affair is nothing but a made-up story as part of some elaborate revenge plot concocted by his estranged wife, Beth Mynett. The financial connection, has resulted in an FEC complaint against Ilhan Omar, due to insufficient details in the reporting of what certain payments were specifically for.

This comes while the New York Post alleges they have a source claiming Ilhan Omar’s husband, Ahmed Hirsi, is poised to file for divorce. This is supposedly after the court filing from Beth Mynett alleging the original affair. If The New York Post story is further substantiated, this certainly makes it harder for Tim Mynett to pursue his claim that it is all some elaborate hoax. That’s because it’s hard to believe Ilhan Omar’s marriage would also be on the rocks unless the initial affair accusations had some credibility to them.

From the New York Post:

The Minnesota congresswoman and her husband allegedly separated in March, and Omar asked Hirsi to divorce her around that time because she didn’t want to file the papers — but Hirsi refused, telling her if she wanted a divorce she should do it herself, said the source, who has known both parties for 20 years.

The husband allegedly changed his mind after Tim Mynett’s wife last week filed bombshell divorce papers claiming her spouse was having an affair with the Somali-born US representative — with Hirsi said to be angry he had been made to look the fool by the allegations of an extramarital affair.

The story of the denial by Tim Mynett, also reported by the same New York Post, tells of a counterclaim filed in court by Mr. Mynett. Quoted from the counterclaim:

“Since the time of Mr. Mynett’s departure from the marital home, Ms. Mynett began a negative campaign against Mr. Mynett, seemingly in an effort to ruin his career and permanently damage his relationship with William and his step-daughter,”

Tim Mynett cites extremely detailed reasons as to why the relationship between him and his wife actually failed, according to him. He cites among other reasons, that he was pressured into marriage by Beth, 55, and himself only being 38, because of a son they had together in 2006. He says the marriage broke down after realizing they had different parenting styles. This in addition to claims that his wife wanted expensive renovations to their DC home that he didn’t feel were necessary, and called their relationship a “rollercoaster of highs and lows”.

With all the allegations and accusations back and forth, and Omar’s continued silence on the matter, for now, it will be interesting to see what information comes out next and who’s credibility seems more reliable in this alleged love triangle that perhaps never was. Meanwhile, Congresswoman Omar faces other problems, ranging from continued allegations and question of whether or not she married her brother, to new allegations of supporting a company connected to terrorists, as reported by Judicial Watch.
