U.S. House Rep. and Senate hopeful Adam Schiff (D-CA) used a resolution introduced to expel him from the House of Representatives to fundraise for his Senate bid.
Schiff tweeted, “BREAKING NEWS: A MAGA Republican Member of Congress just filed a motion to expel me from the U.S. House of Representatives. I stood up to Donald Trump and held extreme MAGA forces accountable. Now they want payback. They’ll go after anyone who defends the rule of law.”
He followed this up with a fundraising link for his senate campaign.
Freshman U.S. House Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is the “MAGA” Republican Schiff is referring to. Luna introduced the resolution late Wednesday.
In a press release issued Wednesday, Luna explained, “Adam Schiff lied to the American people. He used his position on House Intelligence to push a lie that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars and abused the trust placed in him as Chairman. He is a dishonor to the House of Representatives.”
The resolution comes after the release of the 306 page report by special counsel John Durham. Durham found the FBI should have never launched a full investigation into the alleged Trump-Russia collusion. That both the FBI and DOJ, “failed to uphold its mission of strict fidelity to the law in connection with certain events and activities.”
Schiff claimed over and over again that there was “clear evidence on the issue of collusion,” something which Durham’s report disputes.
CNN’s Jake Tapper even said the report exonerated Trump to “some degree”. This comment from Tapper has brought backlash from the left which is unwilling to look past their Trump derangement syndrome.
Schiff has decided to wear the resolution to expel him as some sort of badge, claiming it’s all just payback for defending “the rule of law”. To many, it appears to be a desperate appeal to those who cling to their dislike of former President Trump.
