Adam Schiff Furiously Claims That Kevin McCarthy Conceded His Power to the ‘Crazies’ and Will be Speaker ‘In Name Only’

In a furious tweet last night U.S. House Rep Adam Schiff (D-CA) claimed that new House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) conceded his power to the “crazies” and will be Speaker “In name only.”

McCarthy previously pledged to remove Schiff, Eric Swalwell (D-CA), and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from committees if he became Speaker, so it is easy to see why Schiff is upset.

Conservative Twitter user Jack Lombardi told Schiff in response to his tweet that he thinks Republicans will take it even further.

“You’re getting investigated and exposed,” Lombardi told Schiff.

Schiff claimed in the tweet that it “Looks like Kevin McCarthy conceded all the power of his office to the crazies to finally get their votes.”

“He had to give away the house to do it, and that was a sacrifice he was willing to make — for the title,” Schiff insisted.

Schiff then added, “He will be a speaker in name only.”

In December, Schiff was asked in a recent interview why shouldn’t Republicans be able to kick him off committees when they took over the majority.

“Well, this is the same false equivalence they often use, which is, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar were removed from their committees because they were inciting violence and fellow members of Congress,” Schiff smugly explained.

Schiff continued, “The day I start to incite violence against people I serve with or elsewhere, then fine, take me off my committee.”

“The moment I start engaging in insurrection, then fine, sanction me but don’t give me this false equivalence Mr. McCarthy and suggest that somehow leading legitimate investigations of Donald Trump’s corruption with Russia, Ukraine, and January 6 is somehow a legitimate basis to remove someone from their committee,” Schiff concluded.

Schiff shared a video message yesterday in a tweet where he said, “Back on Capitol Hill on another January 6. Thinking of the families of law enforcement officers we lost that dark day. We are all in their debt.”
