Outgoing U.S. House Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) continues to run on his Anti-Trump platform. He is hoping to snag a U.S. Senate seat in the near term. Schiff, in a video from his interview with MSNBC’s “All In” host Chris Hayes declared if Trump is elected to the presidency once again, “It could be the end of our democratic republic.”
“If Donald Trump becomes president again, that could be the end of our Democratic Republic.”
Hayes told Schiff in a comment, which surely boosted his ego, that he “thinks often about the speech” he gave at the closing arguments of Trump’s first impeachment trial. Schiff warned in those closing arguments that Trump couldn’t be trusted to do the right thing because Schiff “knew” he wouldn’t.
The pair concurred with each other as they believe that Trump is “less subtle than he’s ever been about what his intentions are”.
Schiff then added to their point, “In fact, what we saw with the four years of his presidency, every time he was not held accountable unfailingly, he engaged in worse and worse misconduct.” Schiff then said one of his biggest fears out loud. If Trump were to become president once again he would start where he “left off”.
“The constitutional crisis has not passed,” Schiff added.
Schiff views Trump as a threat to the America he wants, and as he said it may be just a coin flip away for Trump to once again lead America, much to his dismay.
