Adam Schiff Tries to Explain his Pre-Impeachment Whistleblower Lie, ‘I Should’ve Been More Clear’

U.S. House Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) seems to have focused his political career on “getting” former President Donald Trump since Trump declared victory in 2016. One could argue Schiff has been the Democrat “face” of “Russiagate” as well as the two impeachments of Trump.

Before Trump was impeached for the first time Schiff when asked whether or not he has spoken to the whistleblower denied having contact with the whistleblower. Schiff said, “We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower.”

This turned out to be false and Schiff was fact-checked on his statement. His misleading statement heightened many people’s mistrust of Schiff who was Chair of the House Intelligence Committee as well as at the time leader of the impeachment inquiry.

The focus of the first impeachment was centered around the whistleblower complaint. Schiff not disclosing the fact that he had spoken with the whistleblower before the complaint was made has never sat well with many.

Dana Bash, host of CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ confronted Schiff about it ask Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has used it as one of the many reasons for removing Schiff from the House Intelligence Committee.

“Ahead of the first Trump impeachment, you said the committee had not spoken to a whistleblower. In fact, that turned out not to be true,” Bash stated.

Schiff tries to explain his lie away adding, “I should’ve been more clear.”

Bash also asks Schiff about “Russiagate” and the claim from McCarthy and other Republicans that Schiff used his position on the intel committee to mislead the American people.

Schiff still will not let it go, even with Robert Mueller’s investigation found no collusion. Schiff goes on to dispute the claim from McCarthy.

Schiff feels and shares along with Reps. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) that they are just the target of “political vengeance”.

Speaker McCarthy laid out his reason for removing Swalwell and Schiff as well as why he plans to bring Omar’s removal from the Foreign Affairs Committee to a House vote when asked about it by a reporter.
