After Pete Buttigieg is Unable to Say Where Border Crossers are Going, Boebert Declares That ‘Every State is a Border State When Democrats Are Running the Show’

On “Fox News Sunday,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was unable to say which states illegal immigrants, who are crossing the southern border in record numbers are being “transported” to.

U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) declared in response to Buttigieg’s inability to provide an answer, “Every state is a border state when Democrats are running the show.”

Bret Baier filled in for Chris Wallace today on the program and asked Buttigieg about the situation, acknowledging that it may be a better question for Homeland Security.

Buttigieg explained that he “didn’t have the Homeland Security numbers handy.” He assured Baier, however, that “This administration is committed to safety and health for all of the 300+ million Americans within our borders and managing the border according to those same principles.”

During the segment, on the feed at the bottom, Fox News noted that “June marked a 21-year high in stops along the southwest border.”

In June, the NRCC deputy communication director Nathan Brand tweeted, “Biden Border Crisis News: 180,000 illegal immigrants were arrested at the border in May. This is a 674% INCREASE over last year, and a new 21-year high.”

It was reported at the beginning of this month that U.S. authorities likely encountered upward of 210,000 migrants attempting to traverse the southern border illegally in July, which would not just be a sharp increase from June but also the highest monthly number in more than 20 years.

Those preliminary apprehension figures were disclosed by David Shahoulian, assistant secretary for border and immigration policy at the Homeland Security Department.
