Texas Gubernatorial Candidate Allen West is fully vindicated. As we previously reported, West’s wife was recently arrested for an alleged DUI. There were implications that this may have been politically motivated since West is running against the well-connected current Republican Governor Greg Abbott in a packed primary.
West is calling for the bodycam footage of the arrest now as well. West tweeted what appears to be a letter from his attorney, captioned:
“I stand by my assertion that a full apology to my wife Angela is warranted. As well, the full unedited body cam video should be released by the @DallasPD @DPDChiefGarcia to the press and the public. My wife’s honor and reputation should have never been assailed.”

As seen in our earlier coverage of this debacle, Jarome Bell implied things seemed fishy:

It remains to be seen if West’s wife will get to see the full bodycam coverage and be able to release it to the public. Meanwhile, West can continue to campaign without this to worry about going forward.
