Amazon Driver Itzel Ramirez (21) was arrested on suspicion of battery causing serious bodily injury and elder abuse, both of which are felonies. Ramirez had claimed she hit the woman in self-defense.
It appears the Amazon driver was late delivering a package. The 67-year-old woman had been actively waiting for the delivery in the lobby. It appears that she went outside when the Amazon driver arrived and confronted her about being late.
According to the apartment complex owner Doug Smith said, “I believe the Amazon driver said something about ‘your white privilege,’ and my tenant said, ‘You don’t need to be a bitch about it,’ turned around and walked away.” From the video below, it looks like at that point Ramirez followed the woman and began to punch her repeatedly.
Twitter user @Anthea06274890 tweeted the video of the assault along with, “Amazon driver physically assaults 67 year old woman who complained after getting a package late. This continues a trend in acts of violence, late in May, a 6-year-old boy was shot and killed on his way to school. The boy was a victim of road rage, two people were recently arrested in connection to the shooting. The rage, some could claim, is seemingly being fueled by the media and politicians is out of control.
