CNN’s Anderson Cooper recently felt the need to do “damage control” after Wednesday’s town hall with 2024 GOP frontrunner former President Donald Trump. It seems that even after Don Lemon’s recent firing, Cooper is not afraid to push his personal narrative.
Cooper expressed to his viewers that he understands that they may never watch CNN again. He did this after describing former President Donald Trump as some kind of Republican boogie man who just might run the country again. He told them, “You have every right to be outraged today and angry and never watch this network again.”
Collin Rugg shared a clip of Cooper’s meltdown in a tweet:
“JUST IN: Anderson Cooper gives wild opening monologue, telling his audience he understands if they never watch CNN ever again. “You have every right to be outraged today and angry and never watch this network again. But do you think staying in your silo and only listening to…”
Elon Musk replied to the tweet with, “I only ever see cnn on this platform so.”
Trump was viewed by many on the right as channeling his inner 2016 self and taking the moderator to task at the recent town hall on CNN. Those on the left were left with feelings of rage that Trump, who they would like to never see again, was given a platform on a channel they view as a safe anti-Trump space.
The striking difference in viewpoints is made clear by the different analyzations of the town hall. To the dismay of many on the left and a few on the right, Trump is running again in hopes to become America’s 47th president.
Currently, Trump is leading the pack of those who have announced as well as some who are speculated to be making their announcements soon. Most polls show him with a substantial lead over the rest of the GOP hopefuls.
We will see if Trump is once again successful at procuring the presidency.
