AOC Furious After NYC Mayor Adams Describes Certain Jobs Within the City as ‘Low Skill’

Yesterday, we reported that NYC Mayor Eric Adams blamed Donald Trump for anti-Asian hate crimes that have been reportedly increasing throughout the country, asking Joe Biden to issue an apology from the White House.

Adams is now in trouble with far-left Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) after advocating for businesses not to shut down.

“If my businesses are sharing with their employees, you are part of the equal system of this city,” Adams explained, who then listed various occupations.

Adams insisted, “My low-skill workers, my cooks, my dishwashers, my messengers, my shoe shine people, those that work at Dunkin Donuts, they don’t have the academic skills to sit in a corner office. They need this. We are in this together.”

Ocasio-Cortez quote tweeted a clip of Adams speaking and declared, “The suggestion that any job is ‘low skill’ is a myth perpetuated by wealthy interests to justify inhumane working conditions, little/no healthcare, and low wages.”

“Plus being a waitress has made me and many others *better* at our jobs than those who’ve never known that life,” Ocasio-Cortez added.

As Newsweek noted, Ocasio-Cortez worked as a bartender and waitress in the Bronx borough before entering politics.

Ocasio-Cortez also had endorsed progressive Maya Wiley in the Democratic primaries against Adams.

Many major corporations based in New York City are asking employees to work from home for the first few weeks of the new year as COVID cases have continued to surge in the city.
