A clip shared yesterday showed U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) giving a lecture on why she believes transgender people are “real.”
Ocasio-Cortez explained, “The same folks who tell us and told us that COVID is just a flu, that climate change isn’t real, that January 6th was nothing but a tourist visit, are now trying to tell us that transgender people are not real.”
“I would say their claim is just as legitimate as all the others, which is to say, not very much at all,” Ocasio-Cortez summed it up.
One “Ultra MAGA” supporter replied to the clip, “Men cannot become women. Women cannot become men. Human life begins at conception.”

Journalist Andy Ngo today called out Ocasio-Cortez for her past support for an organization related to transgender transitions in a Twitter thread.
Ngo began by sharing an article and said, “Children’s trans support nonprofit @mermaids_gender is being investigated by the UK Charity Commission over concerns it failed to safeguard minors.”
“The group sent chest-flattening devices to girls without informing their parents or guardians,” Ngo explained.
Ngo then quote tweeted Ocasio-Cortez from 2019 and pointed out, “Congresswoman @AOC directed her followers to support the children’s trans group now under investigation by British authorities.”
Ocasio-Cortez said at the time, “If you’d like to use this as a good moment to support the queer community, there’s a charity twitch stream going on for @Mermaids_Gender.”
Ngo also shared that the organization had then blocked him on Twitter.
The organization has issued a statement where it denies the allegations against it.
