As Nancy Pelosi Steps Away From Democrat Leadership Position, Leo Terrell Jokingly Suggests AOC for Leader of the Dems

Thursday afternoon Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi shared she would continue to serve in the House but would do so outside of a leadership position within the Democratic caucus.

Kyle Becker shared a video of the Speakers announcement on Twitter:

“Nancy Pelosi annouces that she “will not seek re-election to Democratic leadership in the next Congress.”

Leo Terrell shared his thoughts on Pelosi’s replacement, “I nominate incompetent AOC as the new leader of house Democrats.”

While Alexandria Ocasio Cortez seems to wield much power within the Democrat party, she hasn’t shown much interest in being in an official position of leadership.

Pelosi has thrown her support behind Hakeem Jeffries according to Puck News.

Some weren’t sure if Pelosi would step away from her leadership role, but she had previously promised this previous term would be her last. There was speculation that she made that deal in order to have her final term as Speaker of the House.

With Democrat leadership set to change within the House, we will see what the new Congress ushers in.

House Democrats are set to select their leaders on November 30th
