Actress Bette Midler on Wednesday shockingly admitted that she only bathes once a month to save the planet in an epic meltdown.
The admission came in a quote tweet response to a Twitter user who had replied to an initial tweet that Midler made where she shared a meme claiming that the sun could provide the earth with “free, unlimited, clean energy.”
In the meme that Midler shared in the Monday tweet, it showed a picture of the sun and said, “If God had wanted us to have free, unlimited, clean energy, he would have given us a giant fusion reactor in the sky.”
The Twitter user, “Bookshelf Q. Battler” told Midler in response, “Bette is so worried about this that she abandoned her house, car, stopped flying and gave up on all modern conveniences and now lives in a solar powered hut in the forest.”
“What a great example she set for the rest of us. Three cheers for Bette!” the Twitter user added sarcastically.
Midler then shot back in the quote tweet, “If you knew what I have done to mitigate the criminal environmental craziness in this country, you would kiss my ass. I have done my part, and I have done YOUR part.”
“I have done geothermal, solar, hybrid, electric cars, composting, recycling, I bathe once a month! F*ck you!” Midler declared.
Another Twitter user replied to Midler, “All I retained from that, is that you bathe once a month.”
Midler wasn’t finished, however as she ranted in another tweet, “In addition, I have saved parks, built parks, cleaned parks, sent kids to schools, taught them how to play music, honored nature by giving people actual LAND to grow their own food and find peace and serenity in nature.”
“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE BESIDES SLAG ME?” Midler questioned.
