It was reported this morning that Vice President Kamala Harris is heading to the U.S.-Mexico border this week, amid what Politico called an unrelenting chorus of criticism from Republicans over her failure to visit there.
According to sources familiar with the trip, Harris, who was named the border czar by President Joe Biden, will make a stop in El Paso, Texas on Friday and is expected to be accompanied by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Trump ally Jason Miller tweeted out about the news, “WOW. Biden and Harris blinked. Kamala Harris is only going to the border because President Trump is going to the border.”
“Not only does this put more emphasis on Pres. Trump’s visit, Harris doesn’t have good answers on Remain in Mexico, Catch & Release, or Wall Construction,” Miller explained.

We reported last Tuesday that former President Donald Trump said that he has accepted an invitation from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) to join him at the country’s southern border on Wednesday, June 30 after Abbott announced Texas would build its own border wall.
Trump said in a press release at the time that Biden’s administration has created the “single worst border crisis in U.S. history” and pointed out that when his administration left office, the border was strong, safe and secure.
U.S. House Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) was one of several Republicans to weigh in on the news, invoking Trump’s plans as well in a tweet.
“Thank you President Trump for getting Vice President Harris to finally go to the southern border. She would never go without you announcing your trip first,” Jordan claimed.

She would never go without you announcing your trip first.
U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) also commented on the news with a pair of tweets about “Cacklin’ Kamala.”
In the first one, Boebert asserted that “With President Trump, the buck stopped at his desk. President Biden passed the buck to Cacklin’ Kamala.”

President Biden passed the buck to Cacklin’ Kamala.
Boebert then referenced an interview that Harris gave with NBC where she criticized for her response about visiting the border and suggested that “Cacklin’ Kamala’s work on the border is a clearly joke, even she laughs when asked about it.”
