Shortly after it was made public that Joe Biden was embroiled in a classified document scandal, that the Department of Justice seemed to handled quite differently than they had with former President Donald Trump; U.S. House Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, announced he was launching an investigation into the Biden classified document scandal.
“We are conducting oversight of the Justice Department’s actions with respect to former Vice President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents, including the apparently unauthorized possession of classified material at a Washington, D.C., private office and in the garage of his Wilmington, Delaware, residence,” Jordan wrote in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland.
“On January 12, 2023, you appointed Robert Hur as Special Counsel to investigate these matters. The circumstances of this appointment raise fundamental oversight questions that the Committee routinely examines. We expect your complete cooperation with our inquiry.”
Jordan has received a letter from the Office of the Assistant Attorney General in response to his letter.
This letter (which was obtained by Politico) from the DOJ signaled they were unable to share information with the Judiciary Committee as it is an ongoing investigation.

Jordan also tweeted, focusing on the White House:

The letter from the DOJ cites “longstanding policy and practice” in honoring the request from the House Judiciary Committee adding, “requests must be weighed against the department’s interests in protecting the integrity of its work.”
The letter makes it sound as if the DOJ is afraid of some leaks. Last year a draft opinion was leaked from the Supreme Court in the case that overturned Roe vs. Wade. This week it was announced the Supreme Court had not been able to attain who the leaker was.
It may appear to some that The DOJ is more concerned with leaks in regards to the current president more so than they were with leaks regarding investigations into former President Trump.
The sentiment of the letter brings to mind the press conferences of late in which White House Press Secretary KJP has talked in circles, directing journalists to ask the DOJ and White House counsel for answers. It seems that the DOJ is as willing as the White House to discuss the matter.

Isn’t the house the law-making body and aren’t their laws what the DOJ has to follow? Who is Garland to refuse information to the Judiciary Committee?

It appears that POS garland is trying to protect that POS biden, and the POS kjp is a lost soul in her attempt to read responses any and all questions.
Write back again Jim, that they will comply, and that your committee will be the judge of what is relevant to sources and methods, and the excuse of an ongoing investigation is just that an excuse and not a VALID REASON. Failure to comply will result in subpoenas being issued, and failure to comply with those subpoenas will be criminal, and result in obstruction of an investigation, obstruction of justice, and election inteference charges being filed, and indictments with the harshest and optimum sentences handed. Arrests will be immediate in accordance with law.
It has become obvious through Congressional testimony that the elite shut down any information by saying they can’t comment because it’s under investigation. Joe Biden and his son are both under investigation, this is the equivalent of a gag order. Do we really expect the corrupt DOJ with their double standards to find any damning information on any Democrat? There are leaks in an investigation but miraculously those leaks only impact Republicans while no leaks occur when Democrats are investigated. Perhaps the media is just as corrupt as the DOJ?

Any criticism of the Dems treatment of President Trump was called OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE. There was never any justification for any of their witch hunts. I would LOVE to hear them treated the same way. The difference is multiple democrat crimes.
Garland is disingenuously trying to conflate the investigation of his OWN corrupt DOJ with the completely separate and upcoming House investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden’s extensive corruption and illegal activities.
Those two investigations are somewhat related but they remain separate. Jordan can investigate the DoJ without specifically referring to any of the Biden’s alleged illegal activities, at least until after that latter investigation is complete. This tactic is designed to delay and buy them some extra time, but it will happen anyways, and they’ll eventually ALL go down in flames, as they rightly deserve!
