In an interview tonight with CNN’s Jake Tapper, while being joined by Sen. Kamala Harris, Joe Biden told the story of how he fractured his foot while playing with his dog.
Biden was not wearing the boot for the interview and explained, “I wear the big boot most of the time, but when coming out here it’s just kind of clumsy so they gave me this little thing.”
Tapper asked, “How is your foot and what happened?”
Chuckling, Biden said, “What happened was I got out of the shower. I got a dog and anybody who’s been around my house knows — dropped, little pup dropped a ball in front of me. And for me to grab the ball.”
I’m walking through this little alleyway to get to the bedroom. And I grabbed the ball like this and he ran. And I’m joking, running after him to grab his tail. And what happened was that he slid on a throw rug. And I tripped on the rug he slid on. That’s what happened.”
“Oh man,” Tapper deadpanned as Biden insisted, “Not a very exciting story.” Tapper then said, “No” and then moved on to another subject.

The New York Post reported that Biden owns two German shepherds: the younger Major and the older Champ, who lived with Biden in Washington during his vice presidency.
After hearing the news, President Trump had tweeted out and encouraged Biden to “Get Well Soon!”
