Biden Takes a Stand For ‘Fist Bumper’ Liz Cheney, Claims GOP is Going Through a ‘Mini-Revolution’

President Joe Biden today took a stand for the third ranking GOP House member Liz Cheney, who he gave a fist bump last month upon his arrival in the House chamber to deliver his first joint address to Congress.

Biden claimed that the GOP is going through a “mini-revolution” amid a public rift among House members loyal to former President Donald Trump and those such as Republican Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney (WY) who have been sharply critical of him.

After giving remarks on aid for restaurants during the coronavirus pandemic, Biden told reporters, “It seems as though the Republican Party is trying to identify what it stands for. And they’re in the midst of significant sort of mini-revolution going on in the Republican Party.”

Biden continued, “I’ve been a Democrat for a long time. We’ve gone through periods where we’ve had internal fights, disagreements. I don’t remember any like this.”

Suggesting that the rift could signal the end of the Republican party, Biden claimed, “We badly need a Republican Party. We need a two-party system. It’s not healthy to have a one-party system and I think the Republicans are further away from trying to figure out who they are and what they stand for than I thought they would be at this point.”

There is no indication that the party is on the fritz, as the majority of the voters appear to support the removal of Cheney from the leadership position and back Trump.

According to CNN, Biden also said earlier in the day regarding Cheney, “I don’t understand the Republicans.”

Earlier, we reported:

Donald Trump issued a statement Wednesday afternoon in which he went after establishment Republican Liz Cheney (WY) and endorsed four-term Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) as a replacement for Rep. Cheney, as GOP House Conference Chair.

Trump wrote, “Liz Cheney is a warmongering fool who has no business in Republican Party Leadership. We want leaders who believe in the Make America Great Again movement and prioritize the values of America First.”

He continued, “Elise Stefanik is a far superior choice, and she has my COMPLETE and TOTAL Endorsement for GOP Conference Chair. Elise is a tough and smart communicator!”

This comes as Cheney and the president haven’t gotten along well recently, as the two have clashed over her impeachment vote as well as her disbelief in voter fraud occurring in the 2020 election.

“The 2020 presidential election was not stolen. Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE, turning their back on the rule of law, and poisoning our democratic system.”
