In a critical speech of President Trump, presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden said that “it’s time for him to step out of his own bunker.” He also blamed him for the Coronavirus response and called him a “failure of a president”
As CBS News reported a month ago though, Biden had been running his campaign from his basement for 6 weeks at that point and has only recently started to come out in public again.
In an early April PBS interview, Biden had even admitted he was the one “locked in a basement.” He said at the time, “I know I’m locked in a basement.”
The Trump campaign blasted him for it by questioning, “Joe Biden says they are keeping him locked in the basement … are they worried he will wander off and get lost?”
Biden recently announced that he had secured enough delegates to win the nomination. While it looked shaky when he was staying at home as to whether they would go through with nominating him and some even speculated that someone like Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York might replace him, it appears that he will be the Democrat nominee for sure now.
Folks, tonight we secured the 1,991 delegates needed to win the Democratic nomination. I'm going to spend every day fighting to earn your vote so that, together, we can win the battle for the soul of this nation. https://t.co/sl3wFGabpg
