A spokesman for Microsft said, “Microsoft received a concern in the latter half of 2019 that Bill Gates sought to initiate an intimate relationship with a company employee in the year 2000.”
He went on, “A committee of the Board reviewed the concern, aided by an outside law firm to conduct a thorough investigation. Throughout the investigation, Microsoft provided extensive support to the employee who raised the concern.”
Thus, on March 13, 2020, Bill Gates resigned from his seat on the Microsoft board after being re-elected three months earlier. This comes to light as Bill is now getting a divorce from his wife Melinda.
It is unclear whether or not these revelations of the sexual relationship between himself and another female staffer had anything to do with the Gate’s decision to file for a divorce.
This is certainly damaging to his reputation as a husband and an employer for many years. As years have gone past he has been less and less involved with the organization after founding it in the spring of 1975.
We will have to see if Mr. Gates has any comment on the release of this information.
