OPINION:
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, the Trump impeachment fiasco is over, the Russia Mueller investigation is long since over, and the Democrats and haters of President Trump have run out of ways to demonize President Trump, so they are having to get creative.
Meanwhile, the scary and dangerous Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is sweeping the world with fear, mostly in the nation of China, but increasingly so worldwide. Earlier today we reported on a Democrat Senator and Congresswomen claiming that President Trump isn’t prepared for a possible U.S. Coronavirus epidemic:
Brian Schatz, the senior U.S. Senator from Hawaii, claimed in a tweet today that “they don’t know what they’re doing” in reference to President Trump and his administration’s handling of the coronavirus. He claims that the virus “is not contained” and that “they are fixated on the politics and the stock market”.
Schatz and other Democrat senators including Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and Cory Booker sent a February 13th letter asking the White House to appoint a global health security expert to the NSC. In his tweet, he accuses the President of eliminating the position there and with the DHS.
While Schatz is correct that President Trump’s proposed 2021 budget cuts the CDC by 9 percent, the agency’s budget for infectious disease-related work would be upped to $4.3 billion.
According to Dr. Nancy Messonnier, the Director of the Center for the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, a part of the CDC, “It’s not so much of a question of if this will happen in this country anymore but a question of when this will happen.”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was one the first to retweet, but she has not yet made a tweet about the coronavirus. Recently, she retweeted a story about a man in Florida who had a high hospital bill after concern he might have the virus after returning from China.
Well right on queue, just in time, choose your terminology, Utah Senator Mitt Romney (R) joined in with the left to try and ‘character assassinate’ President Trump. Breitbart reported:
Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) on Tuesday afternoon criticized the Trump administration’s preparations for the possible spread of the deadly Chinese coronavirus in the United States.
“I’m very disappointed in the degree to which we’ve prepared for a pandemic, both in terms of protective equipment and in terms of medical devices that would help people once they are infected,” Romney, a staunch critic of President Donald Trump, told reporters, according to The Hill. “At this stage, I think we are substantially underinvesting in what would be appropriate for a setting which could be serious.”

Even though President Trump is limited travel and doing what he can to prepare for a possible epidemic, if something bad happens, his haters will be lined up to blame him. We as Americans just have to remember the actual facts before lining up to blame people based on partisan opinions. After all, we are all in this together if things get worse.
