If you’re a Republican, a Muslim refugee may or may not be your first choice for your representation in Congress, but this may change your mind. This woman, Dalia al-Aqidi, released a jaw-dropping video challenging Ilhan Omar’s Congressional seat, while Omar has many challenges of her own. The most surprising thing, Dalia is a Republican. The Washington Times reported on the story:
Ms. Al-Aqidi, whose family fled Iraq when Saddam Hussein was dictator and she was in her 20s, said the Somali-born congresswoman was spreading hatred and division, hurting Muslims and not representing the Minneapolis-area district.
“She’s spreading hatred, and she is spreading racism throughout not only her district, not only her state, but throughout the whole country, and this is very important,” she told The New York Post after announcing her run.
“She’s hurting the moderate Muslims; Muslims like myself. She doesn’t represent me as a Muslim,” she also said.
“I’ve come a long way from when I started” the video starts out. “We escaped a country without freedom, ruled by a brutal dictator”. “We ran far to the United States of America, a nation where you have the courage to stand up to tyrants, to nurture human freedom, and foster opportunity”. She goes on to say how she’s gone from being a refugee, to a journalist, and from war zones to the White House. “I’ve gone from a frightened girl to a determined fighter against oppression, wherever I find it, and sometimes that’s closer than we think.”
Eventually, Dalia goes on to slam Ilhan Omar and marks where they diverge. “We might seem nearly alike, both Muslims, both women, both refugees, but we couldn’t be further apart. Where President Trump ended the murderous reign of Quasem Soleimani, a vicious terrorist, Ilhan Omar was outraged, attacking the president, defending the terrorist, driving us further and further apart. She claims to speak for all Muslims, but she does not speak for me”. Watch the entire video below:

The Gateway Pundit recently reported that Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D) has been facing many other troubles beyond Congressional challengers. According to their report, the FBI, ICE, and Dept of Education IG are all investigating Ilan Omar for possible student loan fraud and immigration fraud. Federal investigators finally seem to be reviewing the overwhelming evidence against @IlhanMN.
And at least THREE agencies are considering her case:
1. The @FBI,
2. The DofEd. Inspector General,
3. … And @ICEgov.

It seems that while Omar is juggling all this stuff, Dalia is trying to bring new ideas to the community. It will be interesting to see how the Muslim community and others in Ilhan Omar’s district react, and if they choose party over principle, or if we see a miraculous shift in what Democrats assume is a vote they have in the bag.
