Candace Owens Suggests Canceling Federal Taxes for a Year Instead of ‘Funding Absurd Causes’ With $3T Stimulus

Candace Owens criticized the $3 trillion dollar stimulus bill passed by Nancy Pelosi and the House of Representatives. She said the bill went to “absurd causes” and wondered “what would have happened if the federal government just cancelled federal taxes for one year— and reimbursed individuals what was already withheld from them?”

Discussion: What would have happened if instead of passing a 3 trillion dollar stimulus which provided funding to absurd causes, the federal government just cancelled federal taxes for one year— and reimbursed individuals what was already withheld from them?

A left wing Twitter user responded with a somewhat incomplete hypothetical, saying that “Cancelling taxes doesn’t help people who are out of work and receiving no income to tax.”

Owens responded by saying “If you were already out of work, then the shut down didn’t force you to lose any money. If you are referring to those who lost their jobs, they were already working, so would have taxes pay, and this model still works.”

Also, to note, if someone was already working and is now laid off, they should be getting unemployment which would likely be more than what they were being paid before.

Another Twitter user said that such a move should be permanent because “the fastest way to get rich is through your income. The government steals portions of your income every paycheck. People would be wealthier if they got to keep more of their income.”

Pelosi has moved on after the Bill has passed from her chamber, pivoting back to questioning President Trump once again, this time for his decision recently to fire the State Department IG. She wrote a letter demanding that he “provide justification for the IG’s removal.”

News reports that the President may have fired the State Dept IG in response to him nearing completion of an investigation into the approval of billions of dollars in arms sales to Saudi Arabia are deeply concerning. The President must provide justification for the IG’s removal.
