Candace Owens Urges NBA Superstar Kyrie Irving’s Teammates to Stand Up For Him After COVID Vaccine Refusal Ban

It was reported today that the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets have banned superstar Kyrie Irving from the team for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

As for if Irving could get return if he got vaccinated, Nets general manager Sean Marks, who made the decision with team owner Joe Tsai said, “Ultimately, yes. He has a choice to make, and he made his choice.”

“My job here is to make what we deem as the best choices for the organization moving ahead as a whole. They’re not always ones that are going to be met with open arms and thumbs up. These are hard decisions,” Marks explained.

Candace Owens was one of several conservatives to speak out in Irving’s defense and she urged his teammates to stand up for him.

“Are any one of his team mates going to take a stance against this blatant discrimination?” Owens wondered in a tweet where she tagged Irving.

Tim Young weighed on the situation and asked in a tweet, “If the vaccine works, then why was Kyrie Irving banned from his team?”

In a two part tweet, GOP congressional candidate Lavern Spicer noted, “They let Magic Johnson play basketball with FULL-BLOWN HIV but won’t let Kyrie Irving play because he won’t get a COVID shot.”

“When I get to Congress, I will work with my colleagues to END vax mandates IMMEDIATELY. We need to give the GOP a majority to get this done as Democrats will NEVER do it!” Spicer declared.

Spicer also shared a link to a petition to urge President Joe Biden not to make vaccine mandates and implored, “I need you to sign this petition TODAY so that we can send a message to BIDEN!”

According to the New York Post, while Irving stands to lose over $17 million from sitting out games in New York, the Nets will still pay him for the road games — wisely so, since paying him could undercut his option of filing a grievance or involving the NBPA.

The Nets have a championship caliber team with Irving in the mix, so it would be a huge blow if he were to unavailable for the entire season.
