Chris Cuomo Suspended Indefinitely from CNN for Helping Craft Brother’s Defense Amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations

CNN announced Tuesday that it has suspended Chris Cumo indefinitely. CNN made the decision after the New York attorney general released new documents Monday, that showed how much he was involved in former Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo’s sexual misconduct defense.

Apparently, Chris allegedly used his position at CNN to gather information on his brother’s accusers.

CNN stated that the showed documents “a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew”.

When it originally came out that Chris had been helping his brother CNN let it slide, which didn’t sit well with others at CNN such as Jake Tapper.

A spokeswoman for CNN said, “When Chris admitted to us that he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly. But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second. However, these documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation.”

The documents show that Chris aggressively pressured the former governor’s staff into letting him have a large role in helping in his brother’s defense.

BBC reported in part, “The thousands of pages release by Attorney General Letitia James on Monday show that Chris Cuomo continuously pressed the governor’s staff to let him play a large role in his older brother’s defence.

“You need to trust me,” he texted Melissa DeRosa, the governor’s secretary, in March. “We are making mistakes we can’t afford,” he added…

Scores of emails and text messages show the level of involvement the prominent TV anchor had with the governor’s staff.

“Please let me help with the prep,” he texted a senior aide. He also pledged to contact other US media outlets in order to try to learn of other allegations that were forthcoming.

At one point, Ms DeRosa asked him to help by checking his “sources”.

“On it,” the primetime host responded.”

Some may speculate that the only reason Chris kept his job earlier this year when it came out he was involved in his brother’s defense was because his brother was still the governor of New York, that is no longer the case. Now Chris is suspended indefinitely from CNN and Andrew resigned in disgrace.
