Today, on his weekly Fox News show, “Fox News Sunday,” Anchor Chris Wallace spoke with Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar and had a meltdown after Azar didn’t refer to Joe Biden as “President-elect.”
At one point they were discussing mask-wearing, Wallace played an April 3rd clip where President Trump declared that it was “voluntary” and he didn’t believe he would be doing it.
Wallace then asked Azar, “If President Trump had worn a mask then and urged everyone to wear a mask then, back in April, the way Joe Biden is right now, wouldn’t we be in much better shape?”
Azar attempted to reply, “Chris, I welcome Vice President Biden to the club. Since the middle of April, the president’s guidelines for reopening” and then like he did to Trump when moderating the presidential debate, Wallace interrupted his guest.
“He’s the president-elect, sir. He’s the president-elect,” Wallace insisted.
“The president has called masks patriotic acts,” Azar continued, ignoring Wallace’s outburst. “Every one of his top advisors, we are out there saying, ‘wear your mask.’”
When Azar was finished, Wallace made sure to tell him again, “First of all, it’s the President-Elect Joe Biden, Secretary Azar, and secondly, the fact is the president said on the first day, April 3, that he wasn’t going to wear a mask. He didn’t wear a mask in public for three months until July.”
Chris Wallace repeatedly correcs HHS Secretary Alex Azar when he refers to Joe Biden as "vice president."
