Broadway star Laura Osnes, according to Fox 5, is known for her roles in Grease, and Cinderella was cast in a one-night production of the show “Crazy for You” at the Guild Hall Theatre in East Hampton, New York. That theatre requires staff and performers to be fully vaccinated with one of the Covid-19 vaccines.
The “two-time Tony nominee” is being fired and replaced by Sierra Boggess reportedly. Osnes has said she doesn’t trust the jabs. She also reportedly describes herself as a Christan Conservative.

Page Six, who originally broke the story, says the Hall claimed she could have provided a negative vaccine test. But “The Broadway League” requires vaccines.
It’s tough to say for sure if she could have kept the gig by getting a negative Covid-19 test, or if this was some sort of protest. There seems to be conflicting information. Page Six detailed this in part:
“We have a requirement now along the lines of what Actors’ Equity is requiring, and what Broadway is requiring, for performances,” the theater’s artistic director, Josh Gladstone, told us when reached for comment. “So yes — we’re very excited with the cast that we have, and we’re delighted Susan has put together a beautiful evening. We’re sorry not to have Laura on this, [and] we will look forward to working with Laura again. We are concerned about maintaining the safety of our staff and our audiences.”
However, a rep for Guild Hall subsequently clarified: “The policy of Guild Hall is that performers have the option to provide proof of full vaccination or a recent negative COVID test result.” The rep confirmed Osnes exited the show, but didn’t comment on why she left.
Returning Broadway shows will require audiences, performers and backstage staff to show proof of vaccination, according to The Broadway League.
A rep for Osnes declined to comment, and a rep for Yazbeck didn’t get back to us.
