CNN’s Wolf Blitzer triggered liberals on Tuesday with what many are calling a “misleading” photo of gas prices in Washington D.C.
Blitzer tweeted a photo of a Capitol Hill gas station and said, “FYI. Gas prices today here in Washington DC.”
In the picture, the price of regular gas is $4.29, $4.49 for plus, and $4.79 for supreme.
Multiple media outlets reported on the tweet including Huffpost and Newsweek, who did a “fact check” on the picture.
They shared a quote tweet by GasBuddy, who asked, “Did you forget to check the GasBuddy app again, @wolfblitzer?”
“Gas prices in D.C. are averaging about $3.59 right now – we can help you get a better price!” the fuel price app claimed.

Yesterday, Anti-Trump Economist David Rothschild lectured Blitzer in a response to his tweet and shared a screenshot of the GasBuddy app showing various gas stations in and around the nation’s capital.
Rothschild told Blitzer, “FYI. Average gas price in Washington DC today is $3.58. We should all thank @wolfblitzer for this lesson on how Mainstream Media spreads misinformation by selecting misleading information (in this case the most expensive gas station in DC by $0.64).”
In a follow-up response, Rothschild added, “Just a few days ago @CNN spread misinformation about inflation, highlighting *extremely unlikely* scenario involving a dramatic increase in price of milk. Again, it is not about lying, but choosing to highlight extreme, long-tail examples to exaggerate impact of inflation on US.”

Blitzer hasn’t tweeted anything else since that tweet, although he has retweeted several tweets including one from his show “The Situation Room.”
In a video segment from the show shared in the tweet, Brian Todd described how motorists were getting “crushed at the pump” and interviewed multiple people complaining about gas prices.
Gas prices according to the government were almost 50% higher in October than they were a year earlier, Todd explained in the video.
“To put it bluntly, the American consumer is getting the short end with just about anything they want to buy.”

Last night, we reported:
President Joe Biden gave a speech today in Baltimore, Maryland discussing the infrastructure bill that has been passed by both chambers, but he has yet to sign.
Biden claimed in a tweet, “The deal will upgrade our nation’s ports and strengthen supply chains to prevent disruptions.”
At one point during the speech, Biden inexplicably asked, “Did you ever think you’d be paying this much for a gallon of gas?”
Prior to the election, Republicans pointed out how much higher gas had been at times under the Obama administration and many expected a return to those prices when Biden was elected.
Fact-checkers have been doing everything they can, however, to downplay the prices and suggest that there is no correlation to who is in the Oval Office.
U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) said that she knew it was coming and in a quote tweet of a clip of Biden saying that, responded, “Yes, the minute you put your hand on the Bible and took the Oath of Office that you’ve since broken.”
