Obama Appointed Federal Judge Orders Halt on Data Extraction By DOJ from Project Veritas’ James O’Keefe’s Phone

Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe was given a reprieve today from what Fox News’ Tucker Carlson called “totally third world and an attack on free press.”

On Saturday, Joe Biden’s FBI raided the homes of at least two members of the conservative group, including O’Keefe, embarrassing him in front of his neighbors, over a diary that allegedly was stolen from Biden’s daughter, Ashley Biden.

Today, U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres, appointed by former President Barack Obama, intervened and temporarily, at least, sided with O’Keefe in regards to what the FBI intends to do with a piece of his property apparently confiscated in the raid.

Harmeet K. Dillon declared in a tweet, “BREAKING! The federal court has just ordered the DOJ to STOP extracting data from our client, journalist James O’Keefe’s phone, and ordered a hearing. Counsel for Project Veritas asked the court to do this yesterday!”

Lou Dobbs weighed in on the matter in a quote tweet where he said, “Thank God for District Court Judge Torres, trying to bring the DOJ back to the Constitution: it’s obvious AG Garland and the Southern District are outlaws. Outrageous conduct!”

O’Keefe shared a screenshot of Dillon’s tweet, which included the order from the judge on Facebook, as he is currently suing Twitter after being banned.

“DOJ ORDERED TO STOP EXTRACTING JAMES O’KEEFE’S PHONE: PV Files For Special Master; Judge Halts DOJ Extraction,” O’Keefe said in the Facebook post.

The order says that by tomorrow, “the Government shall confirm via email that it has paused its extraction and review” of O’Keefe’s phones.

By Tuesday, “the Government shall provide the Court with its response to Partitioners’ motion” and by next Friday, “Petitioners shall provide the Court with their reply, if any.”

In what can only be described as an irrelevant hit piece today, Forbes reported that since 2011, Project Veritas has paid O’Keefe at least $1.9 million.

That only includes up to 2019, however, and when asked by Forbes about last year and this year, a spokesperson for Project Veritas responded, “I’m hoping you can share what your salary was in 2020 and 2021?” before signing off, “In eternal appreciation for your highly serious journalistic efforts.”
