The Washington Post put out an article that alleged that Nunes went to the White House after an intelligence briefing, on Russia’s interference in the 2020 election, by acting DNI head Joseph Maguire sharing the information with the president and advising him to fire Maguire.
Nunes had also sat down with Harris Faulkner, filling in for Martha McCallum, to discuss the Post article and express his frustrations. Devin says, “the most concerning part about all this is that we can’t talk about what happened in that meeting[refrencing the intelligence briefing on Russia interference in 2020]. So if anything in The Washington Post story or The New York Times story is true about Bernie Sanders or Putin’s plans and intentions, nobody who is on the committee or who has seen this classified information should be talking about it. It gets worse when you have The Washington Post’s claim that I went to the White House. [That] I went to the White House to tell the president really bad things and that he should fire Maguire.”
Nunes continued, “They build a narrative, they plant the narrative, they write fake stories about it — things that should not be talked about, this classified information — and they run these stories.” Frustrated with the leaks Nunes extorted “Who the hell is leaking this if it is indeed true? ” See the interview below:
