Shark Tank’s (CNBC) Kevin O’Leary probably means well, however, his Twitter take on those working at Walmart seems oversimplified.
“Nobody forces you to work at Wal-Mart. Start your own business! Sell something to Wal-Mart!”
Mr. Wonderful it seems may have only been trying to be encouraging people to start working for themselves.
Some Twitter users pointed this out in response to O’Leary.
@Ryan0nMars replied, “Although i tend to agree with you, it seems you very far removed from the average person’s reality.”
@QwikAdcom pointed out some harsh realities, “Some people should never start their own business. It will destroy them, their family and even the future of their kids.”
Lots of commenters brought up O’Leary’s endorsement of the defunct cryptocurrency hedge fund FTX, which went bankrupt.
Many of the replies are just negative as to why that just isn’t possible to do. O’Leary, being one of the sharks on ‘Shark Tank’ sees lots of people sticking their necks out trying to be their own boss, selling themselves and their ideas. Many of those pitched do fail but some have great success.
There are always reasons not to do something, It seems O’Leary may have only been trying to inspire someone. It seems not everyone wants to hear from Mr. Wonderful.
