Kevin Costner’s attorney has pushed back on a recent report that there is friction between the cast of “Yellowstone” due to the actor’s availability.
Attorney Marty Singer also tried to dispel rumors that Costner might be leaving the show by saying that Costner is “passionate” about the “success” of the show.
Singer declared in a statement, “The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season 5 of ‘Yellowstone’ is an absolute lie.”
“It’s ridiculous – and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second,” Singer insisted.
Singer added, “As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”
Additionally, Paramount doubled down on a previous statement regarding Costner’s future with the network.
“As we previously stated, Kevin has been a key component of the success of our ‘Yellowstone’ series, and we hope that continues from here on out,” a representative said.
A spokesperson said in an initial statement, “We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of ‘Yellowstone’ and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come.”
The initial report from Deadline indicated that Paramount is eyeing actor Matthew McConaughey to replace Costner for a “Yellowstone” franchise extension.
A recent video shared shows Costner unpacking the Golden Globes award that he recently won for the show, which he was unable to receive in person due to flooding from a storm in Los Angeles.
