Outgoing election loser U.S. House Rep Peter Meijer (R-MI) went on Democrat slanted ”Face the Nation”. On the left-leaning show hosted by a left-leaning network, Meijer blamed leftists like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for ”uniting to defeat” him.
He did take ”responsibility” for losing his primary race, shortly before blaming Democrats for helping pro-Trump candidates, however. Meijer is probably right about one thing. Democrats may be making a huge mistake.
Pro-Trump Republicans who win, while some “RINOs” may not vote for them, can still win. This comes especially true with a mid-term election cycle where Republicans are favored overall against Democrats.
In our personal view, Democrats think pro-Trump candidates may be easier to beat in the general, but they seem to forget that people who voted to impeach Trump, are basically Democrats anyway.
Are Democrats looking a gift horse in the mouth with a “Hail-Mary” pass attempt instead? Time will tell after the elections.
In the mean time, Donald Trump doesn’t seem worried and is likely to run again in 2024, especially if the Democrat plan does indeed ”backfire” in Trump’s favor.
“It is easy to see that backfiring” Meijer said of the Democrat plan after mentioning that Joe Biden’s approval ratings are in the ”gutter”.
