Defiant Joe Biden Refuses to Walk Back ‘Personal Feelings’ That Putin Must Go

Joe Biden was defiant today when asked about his recent statement during a speech that he gave where he said that Vladimir Putin must go.

“JUST IN: Biden says he’s ‘not walking anything back’ after saying in speech Putin ‘cannot remain in power.'”

“The White House has been cleaning up the remark, insisting the administration is not seeking regime change in Russia.”

Biden insisted that it was not a policy change from the White House but rather that he was expressing his “personal feelings” on the matter.

U.S. Sen Tom Cotton (R-AK) ripped Biden’s refusal to correct the record and said in a quote tweet of a report about what Biden said, “Joe Biden’s incompetence is giving us the worst of all worlds.”

“He makes statements that have an effect on the world, his staff walks them back, and then Biden reverses again,” Cotton lamented.

In response to another reporter who was questioning the statement, Biden replied, “Nobody believes we’re gonna takedown… I was talking about taking down Putin. Nobody believes that.”

As we previously reported, Biden said about Putin at the end of a speech in Warsaw, Poland on Saturday, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”

A White House official clarified the statement following the speech and said that comment was referring to Putin exercising power outside of Russia.

In an email, the official explained, “The president’s point was that Putin cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbors or the region. He was not discussing Putin’s power in Russia, or regime change.”
