Dem Nikki Fried Attempts to Appeal to North FL Voters With Tacky Picture in Budweiser Hat Next to an Empty Beer Can

The only statewide Democrat in Florida, Agriculture Commishioner Nikki Fried, who is also running for governor, attempted to appeal to North Florida voters with a picture that she tweeted out today.

In the picture, which some might call tacky, Fried is wearing a Budweiser hat and standing next to an empty beer can (which appears to be a Coors Light).

Fried tweeted out the picture and declared, “We’re going to dominate Ron DeSantis in South Florida, but we’re going to do just fine in North Florida, too.”

Many came to mock the display, including DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw, who responded sarcastically, “Budweiser hat, American Flag bikini, hoop earrings, empty beer can… Perfect!”

“The people of North Florida will definitely believe I am just like them and can relate to them! This is not offensive or condescending at all” Pushaw added.

In a separate reply, Pushaw chided, “Did you pick up the litter on the ground next to you, or did you leave empty beer cans on the grass? Not very environmentally friendly.”

Fried was undeterred however, and in a reply to her original tweet, urged her followers to donate and said, “I read all replies, btw.”

It has become clear that she really has read the replies as she began to retweet a number of them that offered support including verified Twitter user (and simp) Shawn Patterson who told her, “Go get him, Nikki!!”:
