Dem Sen Brian Schatz Claims That ‘We Have Plenty of Evidence of Criminal Conduct Now’

Liberals are feeling pretty confident after the latest Jan. 6 committee hearing that the case against former President Donald Trump has gotten stronger.

Among those appear to be U.S. Sen Brian Schatz (D-HI), who issued a tweet today that potentially suggested he believes charges should be brought against Trump, without specifically naming him.

“I think we have plenty of evidence of criminal conduct now,” Schatz declared in the tweet.

Schatz had previously retweeted a clip of former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony from the January 6th Committee Twitter account.

“Mark had responded something to the effect of, ‘You heard him, Pat. He thinks Mike [Pence] deserves it. He doesn’t think they’re doing anything wrong,'” the tweet said.

Republicans and other sources, however, have been rebutting elements of Hutchinson’s testimony before the committee.

Hutchinson had claimed that there was an altercation between Trump and his top security official on Jan. 6.

That testimony has come under intense scrutiny and sources have told NBC News that two witnesses were prepared to testify under oath that it never happened.

“Secret Service Agent Bobby Engel and driver of ‘The Beast’ are willing to testify that they were never assaulted by Trump and the Fmr. President did not lunge for a steering wheel on Jan. 6.”
