‘Deplorable’ Moment: Biden Calls Pennsylvania Trump Supporters ‘Chumps’ At Campaign Event

In 2016, while speaking at a fundraiser in New York City, then Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said half of Donald Trump’s supporters belong in a “basket of deplorables” characterized by “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic” views.

Today, at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania this election’s Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden called supporters of President Trump protesting outside the event “chumps.”

Speaking to supporters in roughly 100 cars at the drive-in rally, Biden said, “By the way, we don’t do things like those chumps out there with the microphone are doing, the Trump guys. Look, we’ve got to come together.”

After accusing the president of only working hard for the “red states” like Alabama, he claimed “I’ll work as hard for those who don’t support me as those who do, including those chumps at the microphone out there.”

Biden coughed and then added, “That’s the job of a president, the duty to care for everyone. The duty to heal.”

Former Counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway shared video of the second “chumps” reference and said, “An increasingly negative & unmasked Joe Biden yells to a mostly empty lot, coughs into his bare hand, calls millions of Pennsylvanians who don’t support him ‘chumps’.”

“A sequel to Hillary’s snobby ‘deplorable’ & ‘irredeemable’ riff. They still think so little of so many Americans,” Conway pointed out.

Republican Pennsylvania House Rep. Mike Kelly called for Biden to “Apologize for insulting millions of Pennsylvanians who support President Trump.”

“I’m proud to be one of those ‘chumps’ (deplorables?) who will choose to Make America Great Again over the Biden/Harris socialist agenda,” he exclaimed.
