Desperate Dem Sen Asks if Republicans are ‘Going to Finally Stand Up’ to Trump Over Truth Social Post

U.S. Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) desperately asked today if Republicans are “going to finally stand up” to former President and 2024 Presidential candidate Donald Trump over a Truth Social post.

In the post, Trump declared that, “A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”

“Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!” Trump insisted.

In her tweet condemning Trump’s comments, Hirono asked a pair of questions, beginning with, “Are Republicans going to finally stand up to this guy?”

“Or is calling for the termination of the Constitution going to become acceptable rhetoric in the Republican Party?” Hirono wondered.

Hirono shared an article from “The Hill” which attempted to whitewash the #TwitterFiles release and justify the censorship that occurred.

“There were widespread concerns about the authenticity of the laptop’s contents at the time, and Twitter took steps to block users from sharing the link to the story on its platform,” the article editorialized.

The article concluded, “The posts on Twitter’s response to the Hunter Biden story do not show evidence of a widespread conspiracy to limit the content but some chaos, confusion and disagreement among Twitter employees about the platform’s reasoning for censoring it.”

It doesn’t appear that Hirono is going to get her wish and, in fact, after Trump had been potentially losing some support from feckless Republicans, the latest revelations are likely to bolster his support.

In a tweet, U.S. House Rep Steve Scalise (R-LA), who is in line to be the Majority Leader in the next Congress and possibly the Speaker if McCarthy can’t get the votes, offered his response to the #TwitterFiles.

Scalise announced in a tweet, “Now we know: Republicans were right about Twitter—and the media and so-called ‘fact-checkers’ colluded to cover for them. This isn’t over.”

“The new Republican House Majority will be focused on further exposing Big Tech and ending their censorship of conservatives,” Scalise vowed.

  1. She has a point, in that the elephant in the room is the fact that he wants to abolish anything containing in the US constitution. Will anyone address that?

  2. There are at least 2 provisions in the Declaration of Independence that apply to Biden, in the stead of King George III. To say Trump wants to throw out the US Constitution is incorrect. He very much wants to read the Declaration of Independence.

  3. I think a condition of candidacy for any federal position should be the passing of a reading comprehension exam. Trump’s tweet says (in essence) the fraud was so massive, it required the termination (disregard) of even the Constitution. It takes a really, REALLY poor reader to think that sentence means Trump wants to “terminate the Constitution.” I mean…Sen…verb is terminate, but the subject is fraud, not Trump! ”you’re not on the same planet, Janet.”

  5. The election was stolen. Lot’s of people are not just going to “move on”. We have proof of censorship and we have proof of vote tabulation manipulation. Both of those are constitutional issues that merit a reckoning.

  6. The Constitution train left the station on Nov 4 2020 after the election coup.
    That truth by Trump was a message to the military that they should be taking action.
