In a Truth Social post today, former President and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump celebrated the news that Don Lemon was fired from CNN.
Trump reported in the post, “Good News: ‘The dumbest man on television,’ Don Lemon, has finally been fired from Fake News CNN.”
In 2020, Trump called Lemon “the dumbest man on television” after the anchor led a segment in which he laughed when a panelist called Trump supporters “the credulous boomer rube demo,” The Hill noted.
“My only question is, WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG?” Trump wondered.
The Hill also pointed out that in 2018, Lemon called Trump “racist” after the then-president allegedly referred to Haiti, El Salvador, and African nations as “sh*thole countries.”

As we previously reported, Lemon announced this morning, “I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned.”
In a tweet released by CNN, they disputed Don Lemon’s version of events regarding his termination from the network.
“Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate,” the network declared in the tweet shared by the CNN Communications Twitter page.
The network added that “He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”
