Donald Trump Jr. Retweets #FredoCuomo, Says Homophobia Runs in The Family

The epic saga continues as Chris Cuomo, #FredoCuomo and other hashtags dominate the Twitter trends today. President Trump and others took a few shots already at CNN’s Cuomo following a viral video showing him flying off the handle over being called ‘Fredo’. Fredo, which is in reference to the character from the movie ‘The Godfather, is apparently a major insult to folks of Italian descent according to Cuomo in the video.

Just minutes ago, continuing the hours-long drama, Trump Jr. retweeted ‘Chadwick Moore’s commentary on the video. Verified Twitter user Moore who is a gay conservative journalist stated:

It’s strange that @ChrisCuomo who pretends to be all politically correct would so thoughtlessly toss around an ugly homophobic slur & not even think to apologize for it. The word “punk” means a submissive gay man in prison.

Donald Trump Jr. Responded in his retweet:

This is not surprising. The homophobia runs deep in the Cuomo family. When #FredoCuomo’s father was running against Ed Koch for mayor he plastered the city with flyers saying “Vote for Cuomo, not the homo.”

Media Right News looked into Donald Trump Jr.’s accusations and uncovered a 2013 article stating that Mario Cuomo, Chris’s Dad, did indeed run a primary campaign for mayor against Ed Koch, which Cuomo ultimately lost. As part of his campaign, a slogan that was blamed on the Cuomo team going around was ‘vote for Cuomo, not the homo’.

From Gothamist.com:

But one of the most memorable aspects of that famously ugly mayoral race was a vile poster that appeared on city streets urging New Yorkers to “Vote for Cuomo, not the homo”—considered one of the worst political dirty tricks in campaign history.

Mario Cuomo and his son Andrew Cuomo (who was involved with his father’s campaign) denied that they had anything to do with the smear.
