Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced a new feature for Twitter users on Friday. Twitter users will be able to bookmark tweets.
“Major Twitter improvement we just released is that you can now bookmark tweets from tweet details page. Importantly, bookmarks are *private*, unlike likes. No one other than you can see your bookmarks.”
Musk elaborates that a bookmark will act like a “quiet like” after The Rabbit Hole asked him if users will be able to see the number of people who bookmark their tweets, it will also be added to the likes of a tweet.
The Rabbit Hole asked, “Can we see the number of people who have bookmarked our own tweets? Not a list of specific names, just a number.”
Musk replied, “Yes, that will be added in an upcoming release. Also, if your tweet is bookmarked, it will be treated as a “quiet like” and increment your likes counter.”
Musk has strived to improve Twitter since taking control of the social media platform. It has been a bumpy road but as this new announcement shows he is still working to improve Twitter.
Musk has faced much backlash from the left since he took over. He has allowed many but not all users who have been banned back on the platform, mostly of whom were right wing.
Musk is also “battling” it out with the “bots”, which almost stopped him from purchasing Twitter, or at least slowed down the process.
There is now also a subscription version on Twitter, which gives the user a blue checkmark and also other features not available to those who haven’t opted in. Twitter Blue is a monthly subscription and it allows a user to edit their tweets.
Recently it was announced that there is an annual subscription of $84 for Twitter Blue lowering the cost-effectively from $7.99 a month to $7. A phone number is needed for a Twitter Blue account and Twitter is supposed to verify the account is not fraudulent or fake.
If you sign up for Twitter Blue via iOS the monthly subscription is a little higher at $11 a month.
While there have been bumps in the road for Musk and Twitter it seems he is still pushing forward and making improvements to his major purchase.
