New Twitter owner Elon Musk today announced that “anyone suspended for minor & dubious reasons will be freed from Twitter jail.”
The announcement came in response to an inquiry from Dr. Jordan Peterson’s daughter, Mikhaila Peterson.
The elder Peterson has been suspended since the end of June for a tweet about Elliot Page’s trans “sin.”
Mikhaila asked, “@elonmusk can you bring my dad @jordanbpeterson back on here but also somehow make sure he doesn’t spend all his time on Twitter?”
“Anyone suspended for minor & dubious reasons will be freed from Twitter jail,” Musk responded to Mikhaila.

Musk has added to a tweet he made earlier today discussing content moderation as well.
“Twitter will be forming a content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints. No major content decisions or account reinstatements will happen before that council convenes,” Musk reported earlier.
After many inquired about the state of content moderation, Musk added in a quote tweet, “To be super clear, we have not yet made any changes to Twitter’s content moderation policies.”
