Elon Musk Sets the Record Straight on Report That He’s ‘Quietly’ Been ‘Encouraged’ By Trump to Buy Twitter

Elon Musk is clearly not afraid to set the record straight with any news organization if he sees something that he doesn’t agree with, especially when it involves him.

Today, Musk did so with the New York Post, who he had previously defended after they reported on a Devin Nunes interview.

The Post claimed in the report that “Donald Trump quietly ‘encouraged’ Elon Musk’s takeover of social media giant Twitter ahead of the $44 billion deal, according to the boss of his own social-media app Truth Social (Nunes).”

While that didn’t necessarily imply that Trump and Musk had any communication, it could also be interpreted as suggesting that they were having behind the scenes communicaiton.

Musk made it clear that he didn’t like the working and replied to a tweet of the article by the Post’s Twitter account, “This is false.”

“I’ve had no communication, directly or indirectly, with Trump, who has publicly stated that he will be exclusively on Truth Social,” Musk added.

The Epoch Times’ Jan Jekielek later replied to the tweet, “Checked in with Devin Dunes, who says ‘quietly is fake news.'”

“His team says Nunes was referring to what Trump said in a FOX interview, and that the Post didn’t reach out to them for clarification,” Jekielek explained.

Later, the Post provided an updated article where they reported on Musk’s tweet as well as a “tweet” by Nunes and elaborated on the situation.

Nunes actually shared his response in a TRUTH as he said, “Anyone who watched or read every interview @realDonaldTrump or I have given the last few weeks know our position clearly.”

“There’s been no secret or anything QUIET we’ve been very vocal and public,” Nunes pointed out.

Nunes added, “Glad the Titter sewer and the Fakenews are going crazy over TRUTH today!”
