Stacey Abrams, who lost a bitterly contested race for Governor in Georgia against Brian Kemp last year, has not faded away from the limelight one bit. From multiple appearances on TV to past speculation that she might even be a presidential or vice-presidential candidate for the 2020 election, she has taken her gubernatorial loss as a partial win in a way to get her message out more.
Now she is joining many on the left, including AOC, in calls to abolish the electoral college. She is also advocating for her version of voter fairness by herding people to the website fairfight2020.org on multiple Twitter posts.
Wayne Dupree, conservative talk show host posted a write up from his website on twitter. Inside his article he writes:
No matter what Abrams is shoved on television to say about politics, she is a loser and the way she has acted doesn’t seem as if she will ever be redeemed. Getting rid of the Electoral College?
That pesky Constitution interferes with the Democrats’ goals every time. Fortunately, no Federal Judge can overturn the Electoral College voting system found in our Constitution. It will take an amendment and good luck getting all the small states to ratify that.
Dupree tweeted it out with the caption:

Abrams retweeted a New York Times Opinion piece bashing the electoral college. The piece is titled: “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Understands Democracy Better Than Republicans Do”

Recently AOC posted a video of herself filming a rural area and mentioning how few people were there to highlight why she thinks the electoral college is not something that should be relevant anymore. This is because often left-leaning New York and California have an enormous amount of Democrat votes for federal elections but only so many electoral votes. Democrats see this as unfair because, as with Hillary Clinton’s 2016 loss, they had more total votes but lost the electoral college by a landslide. The question is, if it was the other way around, would the left still be advocating to abolish the electoral college that we’ve been using since the 1800s?

Stacey Abrams has been all over the place advocating for voter fairness, but oftentimes on the left, that could mean doing away with voter ID and other things that don’t necessarily have to do with fairness as much as is implied.
In the video below, she talks about ‘voter suppression in 2020’. She says voter suppression is about making it harder to get on the rolls and stay on the rolls. She then goes on to talk about fighting white supremacy and mentions the importance of climate change.
“Our mission is to set up voter protection in these 20 states,” she says, referring to 20 identified battleground states for the 2020 presidential election and other elections. She says in the video that “we know” voter suppression is going to be the tactic used by Republicans to try to hold on to power. She is highlighted speaking in a “NowThis” video that she retweeted captioned:

Presidential candidates Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg also advocate for abolishing the electoral college as well, in addition to many other prominent Democrats.
