Former Kamala Harris spokesperson Symone Sanders didn’t mince words as she admitted that White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has a “very tough job.”
Sanders also admitted that Joe Biden had a “slip of the tongue” when he called out for deceased GOP Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (R-IN).
The admissions by Sanders came on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” which shared a clip of the exchange in a tweet.
“WATCH: At an event this week, President Biden called out for Rep. Jackie Walorski, who died this year.”
“Karine Jean-Pierre says the congresswoman was ‘top of mind.'”
“@SymoneDSanders: ‘It’s very clear the president had the slip of the tongue, obviously. … It’s unfortunate.'”
Host Chuck Todd asked Sanders, “How would you have handled that situation?”
Sanders responded, “Look, Karine Jean-Pierre has a very tough job and I think that a number of people could not do what she does every day.”
Later, Sanders said that emphasizing was most important and that she believes Jean-Pierre “Did try to do that.”
