Former Police Officer Kim Potter has been Sentenced to Two Years for the Death of Daunte Wright

The former Brooklyn Center, Minnesota police officer Kim Potter has been sentenced in the shooting death of Daunte Wright. Potter said she thought she grabbed her taser and that she didn’t mean to shoot Wright. However, social justice activists didn’t believe her or didn’t think that excuse was good enough to do no time in jail.

Potter was subsequently convicted of first and second-degree manslaughter. Many on the different political aisles had different feelings about this. Nevertheless, the sentencing time has come. Potter has been sentenced to two years, with 16 months behind bars and 8 months of supervised release for a total sentence of 2 years.

Judge Regina Chu called it one of the “saddest cases” she has ever presided over. The judge says Potter didn’t abuse her position of authority. “There is no question that Potter is extremely remorseful. It is also beyond dispute that she is particularly amenable to probation”

We will see how the various left and right-wing pundits react to this breaking and developing news story. Wright’s Mom was furious saying, “let me tell you what you stole from us… you took his future… she took my baby boy with a single gunshot through his heart, and shattered mine. My shattered heart had been on display for almost a year now, and I have to live in this nightmare, watching my son shot over and over again.”

Potter said: “I understand a mother’s love and I am sorry I broke your heart. I do pray that one day, you can find forgiveness, only because hatred is so destructive to us all.”
