Only 7 Senate Republicans voted to convict Former President Trump, Mitt Romney (R-UT), Richard Burr (R-NC), Susan Collins (R-ME), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Pat Toomey (R-PA), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), and Ben Sasse (R-NE) which were all expected votes. It is important to note that Senator Burr (R-NC) and Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) are expected to retire after their term concludes.
President Trump’s office released a statement that dismissed the impeachment trial saying, “This has been yet another phase of the greatest witch hunt in the history of our country.”
Trump also hinted at possible involvement in politics in the future saying, “We have so much work ahead of us, and soon we will emerge with a vision of a bright, radiant, and limitless American Future.” He also mentioned that he looks forward to continuing the “incredible journey to achieve American Greatness”.
He gave his supporters a sign of hope by concluding, “Together there is nothing we cannot accomplish.”
The Democrat’s worst nightmare of him running again or being a powerful political force may be arsing as he will want revenge for what has been done to him by the Washington establishment. The door is now wide open for a potential run for President in 2024 and to drain the GOP of the RINO’s.
